Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Frontend to lead and grow our frontend engineering team. This role is a blend of people leadership, technical ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, scalable, and user-centric frontend experiences across web and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

People & Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
• Support hiring, onboarding, and team capacity planning

Technical & Delivery Ownership

• Own frontend architecture, design decisions, and technical standards
• Drive best practices around code quality, performance, accessibility, and security
• Collaborate with backend, mobile, QA, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Ensure predictable delivery through sprint planning, estimation, and execution

Product & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Balance the speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and scalability
• Provide technical input into product roadmaps and prioritisation

Operational Excellence

• Improve development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and release practices
• Monitor frontend performance, reliability, and user experience in production
• Actively participate in incident resolution and root-cause analysis

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management or tech-lead role
• Strong hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Next.js, React Native, or similar)
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, performance optimisation, and responsive design
• Experience working in agile / scrum environments
• Proven ability to lead and scale high-performing engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building consumer-facing or healthcare products
• Exposure to mobile frontend technologies (React Native is a plus)
• Familiarity with cloud environments and modern DevOps practices
• Experience working with distributed or remote teams
• Leverage AI tools to enhance frontend observability, performance optimization, and debugging like Copilot, Cursor etc
