As a Software Engineer in the Product Operating Model (POM), your focus is on building high-quality, reliable, and scalable software that delivers business value. You are accountable for owning development, optimization, and automation activities; writing clean and maintainable code; practicing test-driven development; and collaborating closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and fellow Developers. You contribute to solution design, ensure adherence to engineering best practices, and take ownership of features from development through testing and delivery.

• Participate in mission-critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.
• Be part of a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates, and delivers on new product objectives.
• Showcase your development skills in Core Java or similar programming languages.
• Apply your programming skills towards building low-latency and high-throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
• Implement SQL composition skills that collect and query data for investigation and analysis in real time from our applications.
• Utilize your knowledge to understand our codebase, systems, and business requirements to effectively make changes to our applications.
• Effectively collaborate and engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions, and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.
  
  

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Strong coding experience with Core Java.
• Thorough SQL composition skills for querying and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and building RESTful APIs, as well as familiarity with gRPC-based services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture is a MUST, including inter-service communication using REST and/or gRPC.
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially GCP or AWS/Azure.

Flexible work at Priceline

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
