We are searching for an AI and DSP Applications Software Engineer to be a part of the AI Processor Solutions team that is responsible for developing machine learning based applications and use cases developed for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The candidate will work on new cutting-edge hardware accelerators in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision and video processing and contribute to research and development of new applications that bring artificial intelligence to mobile and edge devices.

Responsibilities include working with the team on software development, integration, test, and support of these applications for the Qualcomm Snapdragon AI Processor. Focusing on frameworks that support AI processing for video playback, gaming, camera, and other multimedia use cases, the candidate should be able to work with multiple teams to determine and understand requirements and resolve technical issues. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting customers (internal as well as external).

The candidate should be able to read abstract problem definitions, define problem statements, design and ensure that goals of our end users and technology are met. The candidate is expected to follow and demonstrate strong software development practices and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Read abstract problem definitions, define problem statements, design and ensure that goals of our end users and technology are met.
• Work with multiple teams to determine and understand requirements and implement resolutions to technical issues.
• Design and develop processing frameworks running on Android, Linux, and other High Level Operating Systems as well as on embedded, real-time AI Processors.
• Test and validate solutions for quality, performance, and power
• Explore opportunities outside of Mobile, including Automotive, IoT, XR, etc.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Engineers with ideally 2+ years of professional experience in the following areas are welcome to apply:
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ and C; experience with other object-oriented languages a plus
• Good understanding of software development principles and practices, object-oriented design
• Familiar with computer/hardware architecture and operating systems
• Real-time software development concepts
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  
• Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work with multiple teams.
• The candidate is expected to follow excellent software development practices and processes.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Working experience with modern C++ and C
• Working experience with Python in OOP manner
• Experience with Linux development
• Experience with embedded software development
• Understanding of Android Native/HAL and multimedia frameworks (MediaCodec, Android Graphics, Camera HAL) a plus
• Knowledge of Linux driver development
• Experience with high-performance computing
• Understanding of machine learning, computer vision, and digital image/signal processing is a plus
  
  
  

Education

Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
