We are seeking a skilled Backup Engineer with expertise in hybrid cloud environments to manage and enhance our data protection strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backup solutions, cloud technologies, and disaster recovery methods.

💼 Role: Backup Engineer – Hybrid Cloud

What You'll Do:

 Manage and support enterprise backup and recovery solutions in hybrid cloud
environments.
 Design and maintain backup, retention, and restore strategies aligned to RPO/RTO
requirements.
 Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and perform rootcause analysis.
 Execute and validate restore and DR testing.
 Support backups for VMs, databases, file systems, and cloud workloads.
 Automate backup operations and reporting using scripting/automation tools.
 Ensure compliance with security, governance, and data protection standards.
 Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.

Technical Qualifications
 Handson experience with backup tools (Veeam / Commvault / Veritas / Rubrik / Cohesity).
 Experience in hybrid cloud environments (onprem + Azure/AWS/GCP).
 Strong knowledge of VMware, Linux, Windows, and storage technologies.
 Experience with applicationconsistent backups (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
 Working knowledge of networking and security concepts.
 Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible).

Preferred Certifications
 Backup vendor certification (Veeam, Commvault, etc.)
 Cloud certification (Azure / AWS)
 ITIL (plus)
