We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, ETL processes, and database management. You will play a key role in designing and implementing robust data pipelines that support our business objectives.

💼 Role: Data Engineer

What You'll Do:

Proficiency with AWS and Glue

• Strong knowledge of PySpark

• Advanced SQL skills

• Familiarity with Databricks and/or Palantir is a plus

• At least 7+ years in the technology field, with a minimum of 5 years focused on data-related roles

• At least 1 year of experience as an Architect

• Experience working at an enterprise level

• Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess core technical skills such as:

- Data Modeling & Database Design: Ability to design efficient, scalable schemas and define relationships between data entities, with expertise in relational and NoSQL databases.

- SQL & Query Optimization: Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data, as well as performance tuning for large-scale data systems.

- ETL Processes & Data Integration: Experience in designing and managing Extract, Transform, Load workflows for moving data across systems.

- Data Warehousing & Big Data Technologies: Building and managing data warehouses and lakes, with familiarity in Hadoop, Spark, and streaming platforms like Kafka.

- Cloud Platforms: Expertise in AWS and knowledge of cloud-native architectures and compliance frameworks.

- Data Governance & Security: Implementing policies for data quality, privacy, and compliance, along with master data management and security best practices.

• Moreover, we are looking for someone with strong analytical and strategic skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning to align data architecture with organizational goals and future scalability.

• Soft skills such as collaboration, communication, leadership, and influence are also crucial for this role, as the candidate will need to work closely with stakeholders, engineers, and business teams, while driving architectural decisions and mentoring teams

• Lastly, emerging skills in machine learning & AI awareness, as well as data streaming & real-time processing, would be highly beneficial
