Systems Engineer - Zscaler

What’s The Role

The Zscaler Operations Engineer will be responsible for managing, operating, and optimizing cloud security services including ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX. The role requires strong networking fundamentals, automation skills, and hands-on experience with ITSM processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Zscaler Platform Operations

• Manage and operate ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX platforms on a daily basis.
• Monitor Zscaler dashboards, alerts, logs, and ensure service availability.
• Perform policy configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Use ZDX to analyze end-to-end user experience and application performance.
• Optimize Zscaler policies for security and business needs.
  
  

Networking & Security

• Work with proxy concepts, zero-trust architecture, and identity-based access.
• Analyze traffic flows using logs etc.
• Collaborate with network and security teams for end-to-end connectivity.
  
  

Automation & Integrations

• Utilize Zscaler APIs for automation, reporting, and configuration.
• Build workflows using Power Automate or scripts for control operation executions.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency.
  
  

ITSM Operations

• Manage ServiceNow requests, changes, and incidents following ITIL guidelines.
• Perform incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.
• Document operational procedures and knowledge articles.
• Participate in change management and impact assessment.
  
  

Monitoring & Reporting

• Create reports on platform health, performance, and security posture.
• Track connector status, bandwidth usage, user experience, and analytics.
• Recommend improvements to enhance service reliability.
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s in Technology or related degree with minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Exposure to SSL/TLS, SAML, OAuth.
• Experience with APIs, automation, or scripting.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITSM processes.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  
  

Preferred Certifications

• Zscaler certifications (ZIA Admin, ZPA Admin, ZDX Specialist).
• Azure/AWS Fundamentals or Associate-level.
