About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Hive, Spark, and Python to join our growing data engineering team. The role involves designing and building scalable, high-performance data pipelines and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, business-impacting data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) following industry best practices
Perform data ingestion, transformation, and processing using Hive, Spark, and Python
Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions by collaborating with product owners, analysts, and other stakeholders
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, and data quality standards
Troubleshoot and resolve production data pipeline issues within defined SLAs
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adopting new tools, frameworks, and best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members, as required

Required Qualifications & Experience

6–8 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or related fields
Strong experience working with large-scale, distributed data systems
Proven ability to deliver end-to-end data solutions in cloud-based environments
Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models

Technical Skills

Must Have:

Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow or equivalent GCP services)
Apache Spark
Hive
Python
Data Pipelines, ETL / ELT frameworks

Good to Have:

Understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
Experience with version control and collaboration tools such as Git
Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
