Job Description

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a skilled Java Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications. This role involves crafting scalable, secure, and high-performance Java solutions aligned with organizational objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that supports critical business operations and drives technological advancement.

Software Requirements

  • Required:
    • Extensive experience with Java (version 8+), including core Java, J2EE, and related frameworks.
    • Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Struts.
    • Working knowledge of integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or NetBeans.
    • Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, including database design and optimization.
    • Familiarity with version control systems, especially GIT.

  • Preferred:
    • Experience working with cloud deployment environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
    • Experience with RESTful API development and Microservices architecture.
    • Exposure to automation tools like Jenkins, Maven, or CI/CD workflows.
Overall Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade Java applications that meet technical and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA, and operations, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and industry standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and participate in design discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning across applications and databases.
  • Support deployment activities and system updates, ensuring stability and security.
  • Document system designs, configurations, and operational procedures for future reference and compliance.
  • Stay updated with the latest Java technology trends and incorporate relevant improvements.

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming Languages: Required: Java (8+), Java EE, or modern Java frameworks. Preferred: JavaScript, Groovy, or other JVM languages for extensions or scripting.
  • Databases & Data Management: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, with experience in query tuning and database optimization.
  • Cloud Technologies: Basic knowledge of deploying applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Frameworks & Libraries: Spring (Core, MVC, Boot), Hibernate, REST API development, and possibly microservices architecture.
  • Development & Build Tools: Maven, Jenkins, Git, and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Security & Standards: Implementing secure coding practices, data encryption, SSL/TLS, and authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience supporting enterprise Java applications.
  • Proven experience in application design, development, and optimization, especially in production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement scalable solutions and troubleshoot system issues efficiently.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Industry experience in finance, banking, or enterprise information systems is a plus.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop, modify, and optimize Java-based applications and modules.
  • Collaborate with product managers and QA teams to ensure solutions meet requirements and quality standards.
  • Conduct code reviews, perform unit testing, and optimize system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and database issues proactively.
  • Support continuous integration, deployment, and environment configuration tasks.
  • Document technical designs, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings to ensure ongoing project progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant Java development experience supporting enterprise applications.
  • Certifications in Java development, cloud services, or secure coding practices are advantageous.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, high-quality software solutions.
