Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of AKSbased solutions for applications migrating from onprem to Azure.
• Define containerization, microservices, and modernization patterns for legacy applications.
• Design AKS clusters including node pools, scaling, networking, ingress, and security configurations.
• Collaborate with application teams to rehost, replatform, or refactor workloads for AKS.
• Integrate AKS with Azure services such as ACR, Key Vault, APIM, Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Establish governance for cluster access, RBAC, network policies, and workload isolation.
• Guide DevOps teams in implementing CI/CD pipelines for container deployments (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps).
• Support migration waves by validating application readiness, resolving architectural blockers, and ensuring operational readiness.
• Produce architecture diagrams, solution blueprints, and AKS deployment patterns.
• Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, performance, resilience, and cost optimization.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in cloud architecture, application modernization, or container platform design.
• Strong expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Experience designing microservices architectures and containerizing applications.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking (VNets, CNI, ingress, load balancers).
• Handson experience with ACR, Key Vault, APIM, and Azure Monitor.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of cluster security, RBAC, network policies, and workload isolation.
• Experience with InfrastructureasCode (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Strong troubleshooting skills across containers, networking, and application layers.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholdermanagement skills.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience with OpenShift or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Knowledge of service mesh (Istio, Linkerd, Open Service Mesh).
• Exposure to API modernization and integration patterns (APIM, Service Bus, Event Grid).
• Understanding of FinOps and cost optimization for AKS workloads.
• Experience with GitOps tools (Argo CD, Flux).
• Azure certifications (AZ 305, AZ 400, Kubernetes certifications like CKA/CKAD).
