Senior Staff Software Engineer (Software Development)

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer within Product & Technology, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and refining the software behind our products and platforms; primarily those that support our internal teams, but occasionally extending beyond Telstra. Your hands-on expertise and technical leadership will help set the standard for how we build and enhance our systems, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

The opportunity

This role would suit an experienced Lead or Principal Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Architect who enjoys hands‑on problem‑solving alongside technical leadership.

While you won't be coding everyday, you will step in and be hands-on when it counts.

You'll design and review complex systems, partner with senior stakeholders, and drive outcomes that raise the bar for software and platform delivery.

You bring strong technical judgement, leadership across the SDLC, and a commitment to learning and inclusion.
