Highly reliable and secure, its light-weight, shoe-box sized CENTAURI device leverages its proprietary laser technology to create a wireless distribution network and can be quickly, easily and cost-effectively installed on any standard telecom pole or tower at a faster time-to-market than standard fiber-optic cable.

Over the longer-term, Transcelestial aims to develop a constellation of small satellites positioned in Low Earth Orbit, allowing their laser network to not only beam across cities but upwards to connect continents across the world too.

Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will develop full-stack features for Transcelestial’s satellite payloads and space systems, including APIs, management features, and user interfaces. The Software Engineer will also support the maintenance of space software and work closely with the Space Team to integrate control systems, perform integration tests, and support deployments.

As a Software Engineer you will:

Develop software features and fixes for Transcelestial’s satellite payloads and space systems and its associated tools across the stack (frontend and backend)
Support the Space Team in building, testing, and deploying space systems

What you will bring:

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (required)
1-2 years of relevant working experience (full-stack development)
Extremely strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in unfamiliar and time-sensitive situations
Willing to go above and beyond
Strong attention to detail, a meticulous and highly-organized character, and no ego
Strong ability to make engineering trade-offs and assess risks with respect to business objectives
Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
Ability to thrive working with a team of people from different backgrounds in a highly collaborative, time-sensitive environment
Active use of AI-powered development tools to accelerate the software development lifecycle, including code generation, refactoring, debugging, and testing
Working knowledge of Git
Good knowledge of Linux (Debian)
Proficient in programming in Python and C++
Comfortable working with the command line
Experience working with Docker
Experience working with REST or gRPC APIs
Experience developing tests (unit tests, integration tests, etc.)
Experience working with ROS 2
Experience working on space applications

It is a bonus if you have:

Experience working with electronics
