Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience in building enterprise-scale applications using microservices architecture. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on expertise in developing REST-based microservices using Java (preferably Kotlin), implementing Kafka-based services, and writing unit tests and integration tests. The role requires solid knowledge of design and architectural patterns and the ability to contribute to scalable, maintainable backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade microservices using Java (preferably Kotlin).

Build and expose RESTful APIs with proper versioning, validation, error handling, and documentation.

Develop and enhance Kafka-based services (producers/consumers) to support event-driven workflows and asynchronous processing.

Implement unit tests and integration tests to ensure high code quality and reliable releases.

Apply design and architectural patterns (e.g., layered architecture, hexagonal/clean architecture, CQRS where relevant) to ensure scalability and maintainability.

Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver features end-to-end in Agile teams.

Support troubleshooting and performance tuning in lower/production environments and participate in code reviews.

Must-Have Skills

7+ years of backend engineering experience in enterprise-level applications.

Strong Hands-on Experience Developing Microservices Using Java (Kotlin Preferred).

Strong hands-on experience building REST-based microservices / RESTful APIs.

Experience implementing Kafka-based services (event streaming, async messaging).

Must have knowledge and hands-on practice of Unit Testing and Integration Testing (JUnit/Mockito, integration suites).

Good understanding of design patterns and architectural patterns for distributed systems.

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and ownership mindset.
