Technical Product Manager – AI & Automation

About the Role

Vertical Institute is looking for a hands-on Technical Product Manager who can both define solutions and build them.

You will lead the development of internal systems and learning platform enhancements — working across admissions, sales, operations, finance, and learning — while also contributing directly to implementation through coding, prototyping, and integrations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real business problems through technology and is comfortable moving between strategy, requirements, and hands-on execution.

What You’ll Do

• Own the roadmap for internal systems and platform improvements

• Identify operational inefficiencies and define scalable technical solutions

• Write clear product requirements and technical specifications

• Build prototypes, internal tools, and integrations directly when appropriate

• Design and implement system integrations between LMS, CRM, payment systems, and third-party tools

• Develop automation workflows and AI-powered tools to improve productivity and learning experiences

• Collaborate closely with engineers and vendors to deliver production-ready systems

• Define success metrics and measure the impact of new systems

• Maintain documentation and ensure knowledge transfer across teams

What We’re Looking For

• Strong programming experience (backend or full stack) and ability to ship production code

• Experience building web applications, APIs, and system integrations

• Comfortable working across product discovery, technical design, and implementation

• Experience translating business needs into working systems

• Interest or experience in automation and applied AI implementations

• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills

• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or education platforms

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or modern web frameworks

• Experience integrating SaaS tools (CRM, payments, analytics, automation platforms)

• Experience building AI workflows using modern AI APIs
