As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. The Work Itself

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates relevant technical working knowledge to understand requirements.
• Identifies and contributes to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance.
• Applies standard processes on the use of programming languages (e.g. HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements.
• Collaborates with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products.
• Analyzes bugs for simple issues and applies debugging tools to verify assumptions.
  
  

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of our Enterprise Risk Solutions team to help design, enhance and build our transactional Fraud detection engine in an agile development environment. You will work with colleagues, who will support and challenge you daily. You will be part of teams tasked with multiple projects building full stack development of real-time transactional services, REST services API and Container based services that are highly functional, distributed, secure, scalable and resilient. We believe in self-managing Agile teams who build products end to end focusing on unit testing, code reviews and continuous integration for excellent code quality. You will see the code written and moved to production within just a few days, to then be used by a huge customer base including Facebook, Nike, FedEx, Apple to name a few.

Some Of Your Key Responsibilities

Our engineers do more than just write code:

• You’ll help our customers achieve their real goals by understanding their requirements and how they respond to their business needs.
• You’ll use technologies that include Java, REST, NoSQL, Docker and more.
• You will analyze business requirements and architect a solution that is robust and scalable along with providing technical documentation of solution.
• You’ll leverage on new technologies to build the next generation of Risk Services
• You’ll develop and deliver new features every few days and be responsible for them end-end
• You have the work and academic experience that will demonstrate proficiency and ease with programming languages, code quality initiatives, scripting languages and operating systems
• Your DNA would include following and creating software best practices and processes.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications: 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) 3+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience 3+ years experience in software development, application implementation and support Development experience using Python, PL-SQL, SQL, Shell, Javascript, HTML Experience in system integration with 3rd party APIs, data exchange and use of encryption technologies Knowledge of RESTful web services and frameworks such as Flask and-or Django Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySql, MS SQL or Postgres SQL Familiarity with database architecture and design. Ability to develop data models Working knowledge of Hadoop and Unix Knowledge and experience in developing test strategy Familiarity with configuring CICD pipeline using industry standard tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Maven etc. Exposure to defining and implementing best practices in using them. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa
