Description
The Role
You will be joining a small technical team of Platform Data Engineers with diverse skills and experience. The job requires a motivated individual who is experienced in taking responsibility, working both individually and as part of a team. You will work closely with internal application teams, external partners, and security teams to ensure files are transferred securely, reliably, and in line with compliance requirements.
Operational Support - Provide support for several Secure File Transfer platforms, primarily Axway SecureTransport
- Monitor SFT services to ensure availability, performance, and successful file delivery
- Investigate and resolve failed, delayed, or duplicate file transfers
- Analyse logs, alerts, and error messages to identify root causes
- Escalate issues to 3rd line or vendors where required, following support processes
Configuration & Maintenance - Support onboarding of new file transfer partners and applications
- Assist with configuration of:
- Secure protocols (SFTP, HTTPS, AS2)
- User access, authentication methods, and certificates
- Scheduling, triggers, and routing rules
- Perform routine maintenance activities, including certificate renewals and housekeeping tasks
Security & Compliance - Ensure all transfers comply with security, audit, and data protection standards
- Work with security teams to address vulnerabilities and remediation actions
- Support secure key, certificate, and credential management
Incident & Change Management - Participate in incident response and major incident resolution
- Provide clear communication to stakeholders during incidents
- Support change deployments, patching, and platform upgrades
- Produce support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles
Collaboration - Work closely with infrastructure, application, and vendor teams
- Support testing activities for new integrations or platform changes
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives
Qualifications
The Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a support or operations role for middleware, integration, or file transfer services
- Working knowledge of Secure File Transfer concepts and protocols (SFTP, FTPS, SSH, TLS)
- Previous hands‑on experience supporting Axway SecureTransport
- Ability to troubleshoot issues using logs and monitoring tools
- Understanding of basic networking concepts (firewalls, ports, DNS)
- Understanding of working with cloud computing environments
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management)
Desirable
- Experience with other MFT/SFT tools (i.e. IBM Sterling Connect:Direct).
- Exposure to Linux/Unix environments and basic command‑line usage
- Experience with certificates, PGP encryption, and key management
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g. Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience working with external partners or third‑party integrations
