Boeing ecommerce team is currently looking for four Mid-Level or Experienced Technical Product Owners to join their team in Bangalore, India. These positions will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) eCommerce IT organization. The selected individual will work in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bangalore, India. As a Mid-Level or Experienced Product Owner, the selected individual will work with the Boeing India teams and its partners and stakeholders to develop, maintain and improve the ecommerce applications development.

Position Responsibilities:


  • The selected candidate for this position will work on development and support of Boeing Global Service (BGS) ecommerce applications that are used to offer various parts, products and services to Business Regional & General Aviation (BRGA) as well as Commercial Airline (CA) customers across the world. This position involves working closely with other development / support teams in India and US. The selected individual will be a part of the engineering and technology team in Boeing India.
  • As a Product Owner or Business Analyst, the selected individual will work with the BGS ecommerce team to develop, maintain and improve all designated ecommerce applications and other tools / application used by Boeing customers globally.
  • Quickly understands the business process, application functionalities, business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry. Identifies strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement with regards to business process, functionality, etc.
  • Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
  • Develops functional specifications and system design specifications.
  • Translates and reconciles high level business requirements into functional and non-functional technical requirements.
  • Works with development team and stakeholders (who are part of the global team) to refine and clarify requirements.
  • Performs current state analysis, gap analysis, risk assessment, and other related tasks as directed.
  • This position provides periodic updates to Boeing management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents as requested by the manager. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world.
  • This position will support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, mentoring, customer engagement etc…
  • Travel domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Exhibits Lean-Agile Leadership - Helps the team embrace SAFe Core Values, adopt and apply SAFe Principles and implement SAFe practices.
  • Facilitates preparation and readiness of ART Events - Work with the team/other Scrum Masters/Stakeholders/RTM to effectively plan the Program Increments (for the specific Scrum team)
  • Understand the priority of the requirements from business and work with /guide the team to estimate in story points (establish normalize estimates) and commit based on the known average velocity/capacity of the team
  • Work with other Product Owners/Business team in effective Pre-PI Planning. Risks/Issues are documented, addressed and escalated as appropriate.
  • Helps coordinate inter-team cooperation and helps team operate well on the Agile Release Train - Collaborates actively with other Product Owners, development teams and stakeholders in

  • Adopting and sharing any best practices
  • Communicate any change requests, its analysis and the solution proposal from the team to the Product Manager.
  • Provide all needed support to the Scrum Team using a servant leadership style (by using persuasion rather than authority) and leading by example.
  • Facilitate discussion and decision-making on identifying gaps and how to fill them appropriately.
  • Fosters team collaboration and helps in resolving conflicts
  • Selected candidates might have to work in shift hours (morning, general or night).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • Ecommerce domain and Airlines / Avaition domain knowledge
  • Practical knowledge of software requirements development.
  • User story development.
  • Understanding and demonstration of:
    • Actor Diagrams
    • Class Diagrams
    • Activity Flow Diagrams
    • Business Service Diagrams
    • Sequence Diagrams
    • Use Case Modeling
  • Demonstrated ability to use office automation to include:
    • Microsoft Office software
  • Software application experience preferred but not mandatory:
    • Confluence
    • JIRA
  • Communication
    • Assists in the facilitation of team and stakeholders meetings.
    • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations.
    • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
    • Excellent verbal and written English, including grammar.
  • Technical Understanding
    • Possesses understanding in the areas of software development, database and system design.
    • Understands Internet and client/server & cloud architectures in a web-based ecommerce application.
    • Good understanding and experience of Distributed systems design considerations
    • Good understanding and experience with Micro services based architecture
    • Good understanding on container technologies Docker, Kubernetes.
    • Good understanding of public cloud AWS and Azure.
    • Experience of Agile methodology in a software environment.
  • Problem Solving
    • Identifies critical issues with ease.
    • Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
  • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.
  • Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindset.
  • Certification in Product Owner example: CSPO or equivalent would be preferred
  • Candidates with experience in ecommerce domain would be preferred
  • Candidates with experience of working in global organization would be preferred

Typical Education and Experience:


  • Typically, 8 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
