Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to the evolution of our digital banking platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on building scalable and secure microservices. You will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver top-notch digital banking experiences and ensure the robustness of our backend systems. This role demands a proactive approach, a knack for problem-solving, and an eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Being the champion of all backend development best practices across the Engineering function
Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to create the best digital banking user experience
Participate in the development process from definition to deployment
Codify best practices in the form of reusable patterns, templates, and codebases and raise the bar for the whole team on quality and speed
Build highly scalable and secure microservices for the digital bank to realize its vision of being the most efficient and secure digital banking platform
Write the best code in terms of application performance and security
Mentor the team for both professional and personal development
Monitor and manage the application health of services under the care of your team
Design, evaluate, and communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
More than 7 years of software development experience for the Backend Engineer role.
Proven experience in software development using modern software architecture and design patterns.
Experience with RDBMS (Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
Experience with domain-driven microservices and event-driven architectures is a plus.
Experience with Agile methodology or similar lean startup approaches to building software.
Familiarity with Docker/Container and Container Orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (Github Actions, Gitlab CI).
Understanding and implementing secure coding best practices; familiarity with OWASP Top 10
Familiarity with modern cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus.
