Director Technology Solutions - Azure Cloud

We are seeking a Director of Technology Solutions - Azure Cloud to lead large-scale Azure architecture and transformation engagements.

This role is responsible for driving enterprise cloud adoption, collaborating with senior stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable Azure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of Azure-based solutions across compute, storage, networking, identity, security and governance
• Design and implement Azure Landing Zones, including subscription strategy, RBAC, policies and enterprise governance
• Own end-to-end Azure infrastructure architecture including IaaS, PaaS, hybrid and modernization efforts
• Guide Azure migration projects from on-premises or other cloud platforms with a focus on scalability, automation and security
• Lead client-facing workshops and executive discussions involving Azure cloud adoption and transformation strategy
• Collaborate with Azure engineering, DevOps and security teams to ensure adherence to best practices
• Create and defend technical proposals and business cases related to Azure solution architectures
• Provide architectural leadership for multi-subscription, multi-region Azure environments
• Mentor Azure architects and engineers; contribute to EPAM’s internal Azure competency building
• Create system architecture documentation, HLDs, conceptual diagrams, estimations and implementation roadmaps
• Lead technical assessments of 3rd party vendor proposals to ensure alignment with Azure standards
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts to translate client needs into scalable Azure designs
• Identify gaps in delivery capabilities and propose Azure-based solutions
• Contribute to the creation of Azure white papers, blueprints, reference architectures and commercial proposals

Requirements

• 20–25 years of IT experience with deep hands-on Azure cloud expertise, a strong consulting mindset, and proven people management experience
• Proven track record in leading Azure architecture across large, complex cloud transformation engagements
• Skills in VNet, NSG, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, Azure AD, Key Vault
• Knowledge of Storage, Backup, Site Recovery, Availability Zones
• Deep expertise in Azure security and governance including Azure Policy, Blueprints, Defender, Sentinel
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates and Azure DevOps CI/CD
• Strong automation-first mindset; hands-on with PowerShell or Azure CLI scripting
• Ability to lead and guide a team of 6+ members in delivering Azure solutions
• Successfully responds to RFPs and client workshops involving Azure cloud strategy
• Demonstrated ability to work across stakeholders including customer architects and senior executives
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; ability to present to audiences of 100–200+ and engage with CXOs
• Fluent in English with strong narrative writing skills for documentation and proposals
• Must have completed ITIL Foundation training

Nice to have

• Qualifications in external architecture certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, ITIL, SEI
• Broad understanding of cloud-native patterns including containers, AKS and event-driven architectures
• Experience conducting architect-level interviews and mentoring junior architects
• Thought leadership through blogs, tech talks or community contributions
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and hybrid scenarios (Azure Arc, VMware on Azure)
