What Youโll Do
The Equifax Server and Storage team are committed to providing robust, available, efficient, and appropriate solutions to meet our internal and external customersโ needs. These solutions need to take advantage of new technologies and advancements, whilst still adhering to internal standards and policies.
As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will
- Engage with business units and application teams to envision large scale systems/platforms and engineer that vision into an enterprise platform design.
- Lead and direct technical deliverables for small teams of speialised engineers.
- Support and maintain a specific platform or application including creation of new environments, software upgrades, patching and tuning.
- Contribute in the creation and amendment of automation scripts and supporting documentation.
- Provide software deployment services for non-production and production environments.
- Assist with application and infrastructure performance monitoring and tuning.
- Be actively involved in protecting the uptime and performance of the application.
- Identify the root cause of the issues and work on implementing the required changes to fix them.
What Experience You Need
- 5+ years Linux (any distribution) server administration and support experience in a web facing production environment
- Experience working in a virtual infrastructure environment
- Good understanding of LAN/WAN topologies, general networking and web based security
- Solid scripting skills in bash, python, ansible
- Strong system security and automation skills
- Strong commitment to change management and an understanding of ITIL framework
- Have an understanding of the challenges of supporting a large 24/7 operartion
