AI Engineer – Vision Language Modeling

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our innovative team. This role involves developing cutting-edge vision-language models that integrate visual data with natural language processing to automate various tasks. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in all stages of the AI development process, from model design and data handling to training, optimization, and deployment.

Responsibilities/ Daily tasks you will take care

Model Development:

• Design and implement vision-language models for process automation.
• Develop algorithms that integrate visual data with NLP to create cohesive models.
• Experiment with advanced architectures and techniques to enhance model performance.

Data Management:

• Collect, preprocess, and annotate large datasets comprising visual and textual information.
• Implement data augmentation and synthetic data generation techniques to bolster model robustness.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across training and evaluation datasets.

Training and Optimization:

• Train models using high-performance computing resources.
• Optimize models for improved efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Apply transfer learning and fine-tuning strategies to tailor models to specific applications.

Evaluation and Validation:

• Develop and implement evaluation metrics and benchmarks.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation across various tasks and datasets.
• Analyze outputs and iterate to enhance model efficacy.

Research and Innovation:

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in vision-language modeling and AI.
• Innovate and propose new methods and technologies for process automation.
• Publish findings and contribute to the academic and industrial AI communities.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Document all aspects of model development, training, and evaluation.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive records of code, experiments, and data management practices.

Requirements/ Desired skills and experience

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, OpenCV.
• Strong foundation in ML algorithms, deep learning, and NLP.
• Experience with vision-language models and relevant architectures (Transformers, CNNs, RNNs).
• Knowledge of data management practices including preprocessing, augmentation, and annotation.

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in model design, implementation, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale datasets and high-performance computing.
• Proven track record in model evaluation and validation.
• Prior work in process automation or related applications in a research or industrial setting.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• Robust analytical abilities with a knack for identifying and solving technical challenges.
• Competence in troubleshooting and debugging complex model-related issues.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Outstanding communication skills to effectively interact with teams and convey technical details to non-experts.
• Experience collaborating in team settings, participating in code reviews, and engaging in discussions.

Research and Innovation:

• Strong research background with publications in relevant fields.
• Keen on staying current with industry trends and leveraging them in practical applications.

Project Management:

• Skilled in managing projects, timelines, and resources to meet project goals.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking initiative in team projects.

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of advanced computer vision techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud services and ML capabilities of platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
