HIRING FOR ST TELEMEDIA GLOBAL DATA CENTRE PHILIPPINES

STT GDC Philippines is a joint venture between Globe, Ayala, and ST Telemedia Global Data Centre (STT GDC).

Job Summary

• Responsible for the design and solution of SME and large customer account requirements in terms of power, cooling, physical security, infrastructure availability, and deployment pricing.
• Managing large accounts and building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Taking a proactive approach to account management, developing Strategic Account Plans, and working collaboratively with clients to develop win-win upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
• Monitoring all existing account orders and requests for proposals and ensuring these are fulfilled effectively.
  
  
  

Duties And Responsibilities

• Engage potential data center (DC) customers and capture all relevant technical, commercial, and other service requirements.
• Develop the DC solution plan together with the DC Solutions and Provisioning team and Vendors and coordinate with other DC teams in terms of technical requirements, space, capacity, power, cabling, etc.
• Works closely with the STT sales and commercial teams in preparing commercial offers.
• Manage customer requirements for data center services such as 1] Data gathering, and IT equipment validation/review with suppliers, 2] Plan the space, power, cooling, cabling, monitoring, and other prerequisites, 3] Network/structured cabling for the client, and 4] Bandwidth and cross-connect services requested.
• Prepares and reviews all CAPEX and OPEX requirements required by the customer.
• Responsible for short-term/long-term capacity planning (power, space, cooling, etc.), costing, and other DC expansion or improvements required by customers.
• Coordinate network requirements with Globe and other telco partners to ensure a complete solution is built.
• Negotiates with vendors/suppliers on equipment, materials, services, etc. to fulfill customer requirements.
• Participate in handling any incidents/issues that impact customers.
• Develop in coordination with the DC Site Operations all disaster recovery and BCP activities for customers.
• Develop the roadmap and future technologies of the data center that will be part of future services.
• Ensures availability of support resources during projects and customer fulfillment.
• Advises STT teams or customers on viable options or alternatives to deliver service needs as required.
• Oversee the progress and completion of DC project deliverables and timelines based on the project plan and should be ready on or before the ready-for-service (RFS) date.
• Manages vendors/partners on operational/performance meetings and negotiating deliverables
• Supervises and manages career development and performance for the team by assessing individual proficiency.
• Administers and facilitates periodic process and operations reviews with customers and STT operations and identify areas of improvement, clarify gray areas, formulate appropriate improvement or enhancement initiatives.
• Communicate with internal and external customers on issues and concerns affecting service performance and others to improve service
• Review project delivery status reports on all activities prepared by the site DCSP engineers.
  
  
  

Work Experience

JOB / ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• 7-10 years’ experience in data center and IT related pre-sales solutions, capacity management and operations preferably in a IT co-location data center.
• Extensive background in IT and data center operations including critical facilities, server farms, storage arrays and core networking equipment.
• At least 5 years experience in IT technical sales, product development, design and delivery of data center services.
• Basic project management specializing on IT infrastructure and data centers.
  
  
  

Level of Knowledge

• Graduate of any 4/5-year IT or engineering course with actual work experience in a large data center environment.
• Preferably with certification as a Data Center professional or practitioner.
• Knowledgeable on data center and IT infrastructure standards such as ANSI/TIA-942, Uptime, ISO QMS, etc.
• Had extensive knowledge in IT and data center equipment deployment (i.e. servers, storage, network, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of data center support facilities such as UPS, cooling, fire suppression systems, access control, etc.
