We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer to enhance and drive the development of our Android-based products. This role requires a strong background in Android application development, proficiency in both Java and C/C++, and a solid understanding of Android OS.

Requirements

At L4B Software you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new applications as well as update existing applications on the Android platform.
• Develop robust Android applications and software components from conception through to deployment, utilizing the Android SDK.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across a variety of Android devices.
• Engage in the entire app lifecycle, right from concept stage until delivery and post-launch support.
• Innovate and apply the latest technologies, processes, and tools to keep the technology stack modern and competitive.
• Ensure all codes are well documented and maintain the highest code quality and organization.
• Actively participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and updating application functionalities.
• Maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments tailored towards a robust Android ecosystem.
  
  

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Android application development.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
• Proficiency in Java RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Experienced with Android GUI frameworks and concepts, e.g., activities, fragments, and services.
• Deep understanding of BSP, HAL, and the overall Android architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex systems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with performance and memory tuning tools.
• Strong understanding of design principles for a scalable application.
• Effective team player with strong communication skills capable of working in a globally distributed team environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. 4+ years of professional experience in Android application development. Strong proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java development for system-level programming. In-depth knowledge of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Android OS, and Android ecosystem. Experience with Board Support Package (BSP) development and hardware-software integration. Familiarity with the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and its role in Android system architecture. Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices. Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks. A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
