About the role:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer who possesses a strong problem-solving attitude and a collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently and should be detail-oriented, with a deep understanding of networking and network server software. This role requires a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, coordinate and administrate K8s infrastructure.
• Automate deployments, infrastructure as code.
• Build and implement new development tools and infrastructure.
• Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes.
• Assist developers in building and deploying their software to our infrastructure.
• Deploy updates and fixes.
• Provide Level 2 technical support.
• Build tools to reduce the occurrence of errors and improve customer experience.
• Install, configure, secure, troubleshoot and maintain UNIX-like operating systems.
• Ensure network and network services are running as expected.
• Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Administer and maintain MariaDB servers, including data replication.
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform improvements/upgrades on our network, network services and infrastructure packages.
• Research new and better ways to automate and organize team activity.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years in a DevOps position with similar responsibilities.
• At least 3 years in a Linux System/Network Administrator position with similar responsibilities.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
• Experience with high availability systems and proxies.
• Experience working on GNU/Linux or UNIX based infrastructure.
• Experience with container technologies like: Docker, podman, compose, Kubernetes, Longhorn.
• Experience with automated persistent volume provisioners - Longhorn is preferred.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with database systems like: MariaDB, MySQL, SQLite.
• Experience in managing MariaDB database servers: replication, grants, data migration, fine tuning.
• Experience in managing Key Management Services (KMS) - HashiCorp Vault is preferred.
• Good knowledge of C/C++ and Python.
• Good cryptography knowledge.
• Troubleshooting capabilities.
• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Availability to work after hours for unforeseen issues and during weekends for scheduled changes to production that can't be pushed during week time.
• Optional: OAuth 2.0, OpenID connect, Java, web development experience.
