About The Role & Team

SITA is proud to present a great opportunity for a MessageQueues (MQ) Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Cloud Engineering team. You will be part of a diverse and creative team that is continually striving to offer the best quality products and services that are continuously transforming air travel.

Cloud computing continues to allow us to transform and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue further levels of innovation. As a MessageQueues (MQ) Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at SITA, you will be working with Infrastructure Cloud Engineering teams on various assignments that use Cloud technology and automation to tackle large-scale challenges.

What You’ll Do

• Function as part of a multi-disciplinary squad to manage our MessageQueues (MQ) within our Cloud environment.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to help deliver our commitments within our teams while also working in collaboration with the development teams to provide optimal service for applications
• Participate in design and feedback workshops to improve our services and quality of work while optimizing the virtual infrastructure and MessageQueues (MQ) in accordance with security policies and guidelines.
• Assist in solving issues with the MessageQueues (MQ) in our Cloud services & platforms,
• Build Cloud platforms integrating connectivity between architectures & systems. Participate in design reviews and deliver on those designs.
• Continuous involvement in functions and processes including performance and capacity management, version management and security vulnerability management and review.
  
  
  

Qualifications

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

• Minimum 3 years experience as an MQ Series Administrator and familiarity with all aspects of MQ administration; to include monitor execution and performance of messaging applications;
• Proficient in MQ Series 9.x or earlier features, strong knowledge of MQ objects such as Queues, Channels, Clustered Queues, etc
• Knowledge of MQ security aspects ie: channel security, SSL, authentication and authorization mechanisms, security hardening to include TLS encryption and Authority/Authentication Records.
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of developing automated scripts (Infrastructure as Code) for MessageQueues (MQ) using Terraform, with proven scripting ability in Python, Bash, etc. and use of Ansible a plus
• Minimum 3 years experience with RedHat Linux or any other flavor of Linux and shell scripting
• Ability to review functional and technical requirements, raising potential issues and participating actively in design discussions.
• Good communications skills with ability to do presentations and communicate to technical and non-technical people.
• Strong familiarity and use of industry compliance and security standards.
• Good Analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills and an effective team player.
  
  
  

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Use of DevOps tools and process in creating pipelines using CI/CD with technologies such as Jenkins or Azure.
• Knowledge of Linux, monitoring tools, networking, Cloud Infrastructure management concepts, and common internet services/protocols.
