Job Description:

Main Responsibilities:

Work within an Agile team, delivering Digital Products
In charge of one or more systems. Identifies areas for improvement / enhancement on existing system/s and on new ones being developed
Determines, analyzes, and transforms business requirements to produce design specifications at the system and programming levels
Conducts capacity planning and performance tuning on supported applications as required
Ability to perform more complex systems designs
Ability to begin to lead small teams of developers
Leverage on AWS platform and cloud services to host frontend web server
Ability to create touchpoints (mobile apps /portals) that have a single build regardless of the device and across the different businesses (Multi-platform / Single Code base)
Develops or maintains; tests, implement and documents programs according to program specifications and Sun Life standards
Identifies all possible test scenarios and prepares tests for the systems under development
Executes test plan during development and system testing and provides user acceptance testing or other testing as required to ensure that system processing reflects user requirements / designs
Provides post-implementation and production support for systems including analysis of production problems
Performs implementation activities such as program promotions, installation of the system, training and tutorial for end users
Performs development/update of the Users Manual, Systems Manual and Operations Manual
Provides updates and status reports to the project manager during the course of a development and related support activities
Collaborates with the architects, business system analyst, software engineers, developers and testers to create the optimal User Experience.
Identifies areas for improvement / enhancement on existing and new systems to support different initiatives of the company.
Identifies possible improvements in the business processes to reduce manual work and overhead, as well as improve overall turnaround time of business processes.
Leads and manages developers into achieving the desired systems projects following agreed standards and timetable.
Communicates with the developers for clarification of technical requirements, testing, and reporting of errors found in the systems being supported.
Identifies all possible test scenarios and prepares the test plan for the systems under development.
Provides post-implementation and production support for supported systems including analysis of production problems raised by business users.
Conducts systems training for the business community as needed.

Skills And Knowledge Required

Minimum of 4 to 5 years software delivery/development (with ground-up project experience preffered)
Proficiency on the following programming languages and/or frameworks

Backend: Java
Frontend: Angular or React JS

Solid understanding on APIs, web services, microservice architecture and databases
Experience in AWS Cloud platform, DevSecOps Tools (CI/CD) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes & EKS)
Experience on crafting and providing solutions (problem solving for simple to intermediate projects)
Proven leadership experience managing developers and mentoring technical teams
Excellent communication skills
Broad set of technical skills able to support backend and frontend development (FullStack), preferably with Micro-frontend, Micro-services and AWS Cloud experience
Experience with Banking, Financial and Insurance products will be considered as a plus
Experience in working as part of Agile teams
Must have strong logical analysis skills preferably with systems design background and skills in programming under one programming language.
Possesses good oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills, must be very client oriented.
With high stress tolerance and capable of dealing with all levels of management.
Willing to work on weekends and holidays if necessary
