Job Description

As a Unity UI Engineer at Tatsu Works, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our products' visual appeal and user experience. You will work closely with our design and development teams to identify and fix UI visual bugs, implement feedback mechanisms, as well as integrating engaging UI animations and VFX. Your role will involve bridging the gap between the Technical, UIUX and Art departments.

Senior Unity UI Engineer Responsibilities
  • Takes pride in building user-centric UIs that adhere to user experience design principles.
  • Has experience in building scalable UI frameworks with reusable components that can be easily modified in a cascading manner and used across multiple game features.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve Unity UI visual bugs to ensure a polished and consistent user interface across 3 breakpoints.
  • Develop and integrate UI feedback mechanisms (e.g., button presses, hover states, notifications) to enhance user interactions using LeanTween/Dotween.
  • Collaborate with QA and design teams to reproduce and document bugs.
  • Implement and test fixes to ensure the highest quality of the UI.
  • Work with Game Designers to translate feedback requirements into interactive UI elements.
  • Work closely with VFX Artist to implement smooth, responsive UI animations to improve overall user experience.
  • Optimize UI animations and UI effects to maintain application performance.
  • Work closely with the Game Design, Tech Engineering, and QA teams to align on project goals and deliverables.

You may be a good fit if you have the following:
  • 3 years of experience in Unity and 1-2 years experience working with UI for Unity.
  • Proficiency in Unity and C# programming.
  • Experienced in mobile development.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Unity's UI system (Canvas, RectTransform, UI Components, etc.).
  • Experience with Unity's animation system and timeline.
  • Knowledge of Unity Profiler Familiarity with Unity Editor tools and scripting.
  • A solid grasp of Unity UI/UX best practices.
  • Ability to accurately translate design concepts into functional UI elements.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with design software (e.g. Figma) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle visual inconsistencies.
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
  • Knowledge of UI-specialized shaders and custom rendering techniques is a plus.
  • Familiar with version control systems and software (e.g., Github, sourcetree).
  • Past experiences in a similar role within the gaming or software industry.
