Senior Information Security Engineer

About This Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer that has experience with Remote Access solutions/ VPN infrastructure to join our dynamic team. This team member's responsibilities are to provide technical expertise in designing and implementing secure remote access solution and managing the infrastructure of a large organization. The primary goal for this role is to ensure system reliability of secure remote access with enhanced operational procedures and troubleshooting end users' issues.

Responsibilities will include the installation, configuration, and administration of the Palo Alto and ivanti Pulse Secure appliances. Additional tasks include the, testing and deployment of new versions of PAN-OS software, hotfixes, and security fixes. Designing secure remote access policies to meet business requirements. Provide consultancy in planning, testing and documenting environment changes which include new integrations as well as the existing environment. Configure HIP/ Host-Checker policies, alert handlers, recommend solutions to potential performance issues, etc. Will be actively involved in Audit-related activities.

Support production deployments after-hours for Palo Alto and ivanti Pulse Secure infrastructure maintenance activities which involve communication and coordination with Engineering, Operations, project management, and customer application resources to ensure the scheduled deployments are successful.

This role will allow learning and growth on our secure remote access solutions and security technologies.

In This Role, You Will

• Lead or participate in computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events.
• Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post incidents digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies
• Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards.
• Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for highly complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security and remote access.
• Review and correlate security logs.
• Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives.
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of information security engineering and secure remote access systems/VPN infrastructure experience.
• 5+ years leading and/or supporting the secure remote access systems/VPN infrastructure operations with on-call responsibilities.
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience developing automation using Unix Shell scripting, Bash and Python.
• 4+ years of experience writing technical design, build, configuration and publication documentation.
• CCNA or CCNA-Security or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certified.
• 2+ years of experience working with multifactor authentication.
• 2+ years of experience with endpoint security including posture awareness.
• Experience working in an environment utilizing Agile methodology and processing workflow using Jira tool.
• Experience with logging, monitoring and data analysis tools such as Splunk, Google Cloud Platform and Grafana.
• Ability to make audit-related assessments, document changes needed, deploy feasible audit-related changes.
  
  

Desired Qualifications:

• 7 of years system administration experience in a complex application environment.
• Knowledge and experience in working with various information security tools and systems.
• Demonstrated technical ability to make performance/tuning recommendations for secure remote access infrastructure.
• Knowledge and understanding of Zero Trust Network Access concepts, systems, methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to document procedures for other engineers to follow.
• Excellent communication skills working with development, production, and application teams for multiple lines of business.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to address real-time production issues and restore service from an operations standpoint.
